Have you been looking for a pair of supportive flip flops that you can wear during the summertime? Do you love how practical flip flops are but have not been able to wear them due to their lack of structure and support? Whether your medical professional recommends that you wear supportive footwear or you simply feel like you need better support from your shoes, I have found certain flip flops for women with flat feet or other foot conditions that provide excellent support, and I will show you the best supportive flip flops for women.

Most women have told me how the flip flops that I recommend provide excellent support and they don’t look orthopedic at all, which is really important to a lot of women. This feedback is coming from women who have tried several different shoe brands over the last couple of years. Bear in mind that the flip flops that I recommend are not cheap, but they are by far the most supportive flip flops in the market right now.

Women with the following foot conditions can strongly benefit from wearing supportive flip flops:

My 10 Years of Shoe Fitting Experience

I have been fitting women’s shoes for over a decade, more specifically working for a specialized shoe store that helps women with “complicated” foot shapes (wide, extra wide, high instep) and foot conditions (flat feet, bunions, rolled ankles) find the correct pair of shoes for their feet. It requires time and experience to figure out a good fit for a woman with foot problems, but over the years I have become familiar with the best supportive flip flops for women with foot problems.

Do Flip Flops Provide Good Support?

Most popular flip flops don’t provide any support whatsoever. Therefore, women with foot conditions that require extra support from their footwear usually have to buy a pair of sandals instead of flip flops. The good news is that I have found a specific pair of flip flops that provides excellent arch and heel support.

What Makes the Flip Flops that I Recommend Ideal for Women with Foot Conditions?

1️⃣  Substantial Outsole with Targeted Arch Support: You will notice how the flip flops that I recommend provide a substantial outsole with excellent cushion and support. Take a look at the image below for better visualization purposes, do you notice how the flip flop down below has a thicker outsole with better arch support?

2️⃣ Targeted Heel Support: The flip flops that I recommend provide extra cushion and support right below the heels. This feature is ideal for women who experience heel pain or suffer from plantar fasciitis. Do you notice how the flip flop on the right has more padding and support in the heel area?

What Shoe Size Should You Order? – Find Out Now!

I highly recommend that you order these flip flops a half a size larger than your foot size. This translates to 3/16 of an inch or 0.4 centimeters of space between your longest toe and the end of the flip flops. This will help prevent putting pressure on your pinky toe (small toe).

How Often Can You Wear These Flip Flops?

As often as you feel like it. Some women wear them only during the summertime while some others also wear them as house shoes.

Be Aware: It Will Take Some Time to Get Used To the Arch Support!

If you are new to wearing shoes with good arch support, these flip flops may hurt to wear for the first week or so while your feet are adjusting to them. After the first week, you won’t want to take them off!

Women with flat feet will have a harder time adjusting to these flip flops. However, if you have a high arch, you won’t have to go through the uncomfortable experience of having to “adjust” to the high supportive arch.

Find Out How to Order the Correct Shoe Size Online

If you prefer to shop online you must be 100% sure of your foot length and shape. Don’t insist on buying the same shoe size just because that’s the size that you have worn for most of your life. Your foot shape and size can change over time, and some of the factors that contribute to this change are pregnancy, aging and weight gain or loss. Over time and because of gravity, our feet might get longer and wider.

As we age, the body’s ligaments and tendons lose their strength and ability to spring back. This means that our arches decrease, which flattens and lengthens the foot and toes. This often results in an increase in shoe size by a half-size or more.

Buying shoes online can be a challenge. If you are unsure about what shoe size you need to order online I suggest that you take a look at the resource below:

Are Any Other More Affordable Flip Flops with Good Arch and Heel Support?

I have been asked by different women why would they spend 50 dollars on a pair of flip flops when they can get them for 10 dollars at their local shop. Those $10 flip flops aren’t going to cut it, specially if you got flat feet or fallen arches. I understand that Vionic flip flops are not cheap, but they are by far the best flip flop out there for anyone with foot problems. A lot of women see these flip flops as an investment in their foot health.
