Do you suffer from foot pain and have been looking for a pair of sandals that are comfortable, supportive, and stylish at the same time? Do you feel like all of the supportive sandals that you try are not stylish enough? I have put together a list of the best dress sandals for women with foot pain based on my many years of shoe fitting experience.
I have fitted women’s shoes for many years at a shoe store that specializes in helping people with “complicated” foot shapes as well as foot problems. All of the dress sandals that I will show you are stylish and supportive at the same time! They can be worn to work, even if that involves standing on your feet all day. The arch support and extra cushion below your heels will let you walk without aches and pains.
What Makes the Dress Sandals I Recommend Ideal for Women with Foot Pain?
1️⃣ Good Arch Support/Shock Absorption: Sandals that provide good support will help reduce the impact that your feet take every time they come in contact with the ground and relieve the stress on your feet and legs. Let’s take a look at an image that shows two sandals that provide very different levels of support. Do you notice how the sandal on the left has a more substantial and supportive outsole compared to the sandal on the right?
2️⃣ Ankle and Heel Support: Sandals that provide targeted cushion and support right below the heels can also help minimize your foot pain. Let’s take a look at an image that shows the difference in heel support between two different sandals. Do you notice how the sandal on the left image has more padding and cushion right below the heel area compared to the image on the sandal on the right image? I don’t know if you notice but there is a big difference in support!
In addition to providing high levels of comfort and support, the dress sandals that I recommend are capable of fitting different foot shapes such as narrow, medium, and wide feet.

What Sandal Size Should You Order?
Keep in mind that to get the full support and stability that the sandals have to offer you must wear them in the correct size. Sandals that are too short can compromise your stability and create foot issues such as blisters, corns, and ingrown toenails. On the other side, sandals that are too long can compromise your stability.
I suggest that you order these sandals half size larger than your longest foot size. This translates to 3/16 of an inch or 0.4 centimeters of space between your longest toe and the end of the sandals.
You will notice that many of the sandals that I recommend have an adjustable back strap. The back strap of the sandals will help secure your feet and provides better rearfoot control that discourages toe gripping to keep the sandals on, as this motion might speed up the progression of hammertoes and bunions. The back strap also secures your feet and helps provide better support and stability.
Are You Unsure About Your Exact Foot Shape and Length?
Your foot shape and size can change over time, and some of the factors that contribute to this change are pregnancy, aging and weight gain or loss. Over time and because of gravity, our feet might get longer and wider.
You won’t be able to order the correct shoe size online if you don’t know what your foot size is to begin with. In addition, the only way to get the full support and stability that the sandals have to offer is by wearing them in the correct size (length and width).
If you are unsure of your current foot length and shape, I suggest that you take a look at a free resource I created where I help women determine their exact foot shape and length from home:
