Why Is It So Hard To Find Stylish Boots for Women with Extra Wide Feet?
Most shoe companies don’t manufacture their boots in wide or extra wide widths (“W”, “EE”, “EEEE”). Women love to wear stylish boots but unfortunately, these are usually just available in medium widths. The main reason for this is that shoe companies save money by producing only the most common styles (medium width). The fewer variations there are, the less the cost is for shoe companies. So, for women with extra wide feet like yours, it gets harder to find stylish boots that fit. This is no reason to settle for uncomfortable or ugly boots!
My Experience Helping Women Find the Perfect Pair of Shoes
After having fitted women’s shoes for 10 years, I became experienced with all types of women’s feet. I noticed that some women in addition to having extra wide feet, they also have high insteps, which makes it a lot more challenging to find shoes that fit. The Challenges of Findings Stylish Boots that Fit
Most stylish boots are too shallow and come with pointy toe-boxes, so women with extra wide feet feel like their toes rub against one another or the side of the boots. Some women even have trouble getting their feet inside of the boots.

✅ Extra Depth: This feature is particularly important if you happen to have a high instep. Shoes that provide extra depth allow the feet to fit deeply inside of the boots and prevents the top part of your foot (instep), from rubbing against the top part of the boots. Take a look at the image below, do you notice how the boot on the right is a lot deeper compared to the boot on the left? The boots are the same size in length, but as you can see the boot on the right is a lot deeper than the other.

What Shoe Size Should You Order?
To prevent your toes from rubbing against the front or side part of the boots, I highly recommend that you order these boots a whole size larger than the size that your feet measure. This translates to 3/8 of an inch or 1 centimeter of space between your longest toe and the end of the boots.

Don’t Insist On Wearing the Same Shoe Size You Have Always Wore
Your foot shape and size can change over time, and some of the factors that contribute to this change are pregnancy, aging and weight gain or loss. Over time and because of gravity, our feet might get longer and wider.
As we age, the body’s ligaments and tendons lose their strength and ability to spring back. This means that our arches decrease, which flattens and lengthens the foot and toes.
This often results in an increase in shoe size by a half-size or more.
