Have you been looking for a pair of stylish winter boots that are capable of fitting the shape of your extra wide feet? Do you feel like every single winter boot that you try on your feet feels too tight and makes your toes overlap one another or rub against the side of the boots? There is a very small selection of stylish winter boots for women with extra wide feet, and I will show these boots shortly.
Women with extra wide feet are usually restricted to the type of footwear that they can wear.
I have received multiple complaints from women with extra wide feet telling me how the shoes I recommend for them look like “punishments” for their feet. The issue is that the best shoes for women with extra wide feet need to provide rounder toe-boxes and extra depth to allow the feet to fit deeply inside of the shoes. This means that as far as stylish shoes are concerned, you may have to redefine what you consider “stylish.”
With that said, I have been working a lot behind the scenes to bring you a selection of stylish winter boots that are capable of accommodating the shape of your extra wide feet.
As you may already know, I have been fitting women’s shoes for the last 10 years. I work for a specialized shoe store that helps women with “complicated” foot shapes and foot conditions find the correct pair of shoes for their feet. Over the years I became familiar with the best shoes for women with extra wide feet. I also know which shoes are better for women with high insteps.
You will be surprised as how many women have extra wide feet. Some women might not have extra wide feet but need a pair of extra wide shoes to accommodate for their bunions or other foot issues they might have.
I have also noticed how some women believe they have wide feet when in reality they have extra wide feet. I think it’s important that before we move any forward we figure out your exact foot length, width, and instep height. You won’t be able to order the correct shoe size online if you don’t know what your exact foot length and shape is to begin with.
Are you 100% Sure of Your Exact Foot Shape? – Let’s Find Out!
Do you know whether you have wide, or extra wide feet? Do you know whether you have a high instep or not? These are all factors that determine what shoe brands and shoe styles you can wear.
Most women always buy the same shoe size simply because that’s the shoe size that they have worn for years. Did you know that just because you have worn a certain size for most of your life that doesn’t mean that your foot size has not changed? As we age the body’s ligaments and tendons lose their strength and ability to spring back, which means that our arches decrease, which flattens and lengthens the foot and toes. This often results in an increase in shoe size by a half-size or more.
Since most specialized shoe stores are closed now I came up with a system that helps women determine their exact foot size and shape from home:
Now that you know your exact foot shape I want to show you what makes the winter boots I recommend ideal for women with extra wide feet.
What Makes the Boots I Recommend Ideal for Extra Wide Feet?
The winter boots I recommend provide 2 key features that makes them ideal for women with extra wide feet.
☑️ Extra Depth: This important feature allows the feet to fit deeply inside the boots and prevents the top part of your feet (instep), from rubbing against the top part of the boots. When women have extra wide feet, there is a lot of extra foot volume that needs to be fitted inside the boots. Shoes that provide extra depth are ideal for women with extra wide feet and high insteps.
Let me show you the difference between one of the winter boots I recommend and a different style. Do you notice how the boot on the right is deeper compared to the boot on the left? This is exactly the type of winter boots that we need for your extra wide feet.
☑️ Round Toe-Boxes: This feature is going to help prevent your toes from rubbing against one another or the side of the boots. If you are dealing with a foot condition such as a bunion, this feature will help prevent putting pressure on it.
Below you can find another example of the difference between two winter boots that are the same length and width but provide very different toe-boxes. Do you notice how the winter boot on the right has a rounder toe-box compared to the winter boot on the left?
I will show you a selection of what I consider stylish boots that provide those two important features and that are also available in extra wide widths (“XW”, “EEEE”).
If you decide to try any of the boots I recommend I suggest that you wear them around the house with the same socks that you are planning on wearing them when you go out, that way we can make sure that they are right fit for your feet.
Stylish Winter Boots for Women with Extra Wide Feet ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
All of the boots I recommend below are available in extra wide widths so make sure that you choose the shoe width accordingly. You should also know that the boots open up nice and wide to allow you to easily slide your feet inside the boots.
In order to prevent your toes from rubbing against the front or side part of the boots, I highly recommend that you order these boots a whole size larger than the size that your feet measure. This translates to 0.6 inches or 1 centimeter of space between your longest toe and the end of the boots.
All of the winter boots I recommend are waterproof and insulated.
