Editor’s Note: This post has been completely revamped and updated for accuracy on May 2022 and reflects an up-to-date selection of shearling boots for women with wide feet and high insteps.
Are you having a hard time finding a pair of shearling boots to accommodate the shape of your wide feet and high instep? Do you feel like all of the shearling boots that you try feel too tight around your toes and the top part of your foot? Most women make the common mistake of buying their boots longer to compensate for the width, but this usually leads to discomfort when walking. I have put together a list of the best shearling boots for women with wide feet, and I will show you this list shortly.
Most women with wide feet and high instep have the hardest time shopping for shearling boots, as most boot brands usually only carry standard sizes. Unfortunately, most shearling boots are not available in wide or extra wide sizes, so it’s hard to find a pair of these types of boots that can accommodate your wide feet. The good news is that I know which shearling boots work better for women with wide feet and high insteps from having fitted them before.
My Experience Helping Women with Wide Feet and High Insteps
I have helped several women with wide feet and high insteps find the perfect pair of shoes for their feet, and I am confident I will be able to help you as well.
Several women who come to the shoe store explain to me how all of the shearling boots that they have tried feel too narrow for their feet.
What Makes the Shearling Boots that I Recommend Ideal for Women with Wide Feet and High Insteps?
The shearling boots that I recommend provide these 2 important features:
✅ Round Toe-Boxes: This feature is going to help prevent your toes from rubbing against one another or the side of the boots.
✅ Extra Depth: This important feature allows the feet to fit deeply inside the boots and prevents the top part of your feet (instep), from rubbing against the top part of the boots. When women have wide feet and high insteps, there is a lot of extra foot volume that needs to be fitted inside the boots. Boots that provide extra depth are ideal for women with wide feet and high insteps.
Read This Before You Order Your Boots Online!
Your foot shape and size can change over time, and some of the factors that contribute to this change are pregnancy, aging and weight gain or loss. Over time and because of gravity, our feet might get longer and wider.
As we age, the body’s ligaments and tendons lose their strength and ability to spring back. This means that our arches decrease, which flattens and lengthens the foot and toes.
This often results in an increase in shoe size by a half-size or more. You might also experience a change in foot width, meaning that even though you always ordered medium width shoes now you might have to start ordering wider shoes.
