You keep looking, but all the boots you try feel oversized and as if they are going to slip off at any time. Many people think that the worse you can do is to wear shoes that fit too tightly but wearing shoes that leave too much room for your feet to move is just as bad! I am going to show you a list of the most stylish boots for women with narrow feet based on my many years of shoe fitting experience.
When it comes to narrow feet you need to look for boots that will keep your feet in place and allow you to move comfortably without feeling like you might fall at any time. The discomfort of wearing a boot that is not adequate for your type of foot will make you lose equilibrium and can lead to health issues.
I know is frustrating, as it seems that every cute boot doesn’t come in narrow sizes! But don’t worry I have plenty of options to share with you and they are very cute!
How To Know If You Have Narrow Feet? Are you Wearing the Right Size Shoe?
More women than you would think don’t know that they have narrow feet! According to the National Shoe Retailers Association, around 33 percent of all women have narrow feet.
There are simple steps that you can follow to know if you indeed have narrow feet. First, you must check if your feet move too much inside your shoe. If you can slide your finger around the heel area either your shoe is too wide, or you have narrow feet.
There shouldn’t be a lot of room in the toe box either!
The American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society study showed that 88% of American women wear the wrong sized shoe! Be aware that your foot shape and size can change overtime. This can happen because of pregnancy, aging, and weight gain or loss. The ligaments and tendons also lose strength due to aging and make our arches decrease which can flatten and lengthen the foot and toes. Because of this, I recommend you get your feet measured every 6 months.
What Makes the Boots that I Recommend Effective for Narrow Feet?
1️⃣ Removable footbeds – This will allow you to add insoles to adjust and reduce the loose space to make it as comfortable as you can.
2️⃣ Narrow Toe-Box – This will make your feet feel more secure inside of the boot. You might think that having more a roomy toe box would not be a bad idea, but this will make you more prone to lose stability and fall. Also, your toes will be trying to keep your shoe on by scrunching up which can end in bunions or hammertoes. The excessive pressure can lead to corns, calluses, and metatarsalgia.
3️⃣ Narrow around the calves – When you wear boots that are too wide around the calves, it will rub against them and can be very painful! If you are wearing the right shoe it shouldn’t hurt you.
4️⃣ Narrower platforms – This will make the overall shape of your feet fit more snugly in the body of the boot.
