Are you having a hard time finding a Mary Jane shoe style for your narrow feet? Do you feel like every Mary Jane shoe style that you try on your feet is too loose and gaps too much around your ankles? I understand how challenging it is and that is why I will go over a selection of women narrow Mary Jane’s shoes.

In addition, I have noticed how many women complain about how hard it is to find shoes for their wide or extra wide feet, but I can guarantee you that it is much harder to find shoes for women with narrow feet. The main reason for this is that the selection of narrow shoes offered in the market is limited. However, this doesn’t mean that there is a lack of demand for women’s shoes in narrow widths, it simply means that most women are not aware that they have narrow feet.

Unfortunately, there are only a few Mary Jane shoe styles available for women with narrow feet. The good news is that I have fitted Mary Jane shoe styles for women with narrow feet before, and I know exactly which shoe styles fit narrower than others. There are even certain styles that are available in narrow widths (“N”).

Can Mary Jane Shoes be Worn as Everyday Shoes?

One of the most frequently asked questions by women is if they can wear the Mary Jane shoes as their everyday shoes, and I tell them that it depends on how much support that particular style provides.

I always recommend women to wear sneakers rather than Mary Jane shoes for most of the day, since sneakers always provide more support and stability. Although, there are certain Mary Jane shoe styles that come with a substantial outsole that offer good arch support, and a firm heel counter that offers good ankle support.

Mary Jane’s signature look is the leather, rounded toe box, and the strap that stretches across the instep of the foot (top part of the foot). This strap helps to give a more secure fit.

I will show you a selection of the best women’s narrow Mary Jane’s shoes, but first I want to make sure that you know your exact foot size and the features that these shoes have to offer.

Mary Jane Shoe Styles for Narrow Feet – The 4 Most Important Features!

These are the 4 most important features that the Mary Jane shoe styles that I will describe below will provide for your feet:

1️⃣ Support: The Mary Janes shoe styles that I will describe below will come with a substantial, supportive sole that will minimize the impact that your feet and legs take every time they come in contact with the ground.

2️⃣ Extra Depth: This feature will prevent the top part of your feet from rubbing against the top part of the shoe. Shoes that come with extra depth will also allow your fit to sit deeply in the shoes and prevent your heels from coming up and down.

3️⃣ Firm Heel Counter: This part of the Mary Jane should be very firm to protect your heels and provide you with ankle support.

4️⃣ Good traction: This feature of the Mary Jane will prevent you from slipping and falling.

You can be sure that if you wear a Mary Jane shoe style that provides all of these features and at the same time accommodates the shape of your narrow feet, then you will be keeping your feet and legs healthy.

Just don’t forget that it doesn’t matter how many features a particular shoe style provides, if the shoe is not fitted properly, you will not get any of the benefits that the shoes have to offer. What’s even worse, you can end up creating all sorts of foot issues to your feet such as blisters, calluses, and corns.

The greatest advantage that a Mary Jane shoe style provides versus most other office or casual shoes, is that it comes with a Velcro strap that stretches across the instep of the foot, pushing your feet back and securing your heels against the back of the shoes.

Mary Jane Shoe Styles for Narrow Feet —Orthofeet & Propét

There are two brands that I would like to recommend if you are looking for narrow Mary Jane shoes.

The first brand is called Orthofeet. This brand offers orthopedic and well-fitted Mary Jane shoes which are biomechanically engineered built in with unique features and a comfortable fit.

In addition, these brand makes their shoes with specific features and therapeutic detailing to help facilitate mobility and their shoes offer great comfort and protection for feet with specific foot issues, sensitive feet, and even for bad posture.

The second brand is called Propet. I have fitted their Mary Jane shoe styles and can tell you this brand is consistent and most of their shoe styles will fit a woman with narrow feet (as long as you choose the correct shoe width).

Propet shoes are made with sturdy flexible bottoms and soft uppers, and one of their greatest features is how the shoes adapt to the shape of your feet helping you feel comfortable and also prevent foot and leg issues.

Not all shoe styles from these two brands provide the same amount of support or fit the same way. That is the reason why I have put together a selection of the best women’s Mary Jane’s shoes from these two brands.

Best Narrow Mary Jane's Shoes For Women

Now that you know what key features a good Mary Jane shoe must provide for you and how to figure out your exact foot size from home, let’s take a look at the best women narrow Mary Jane’s shoes.

I only review shoes that I have fitted before since that is the only way for me to tell how well-made the shoes are, the amount of support that they provide, and how they fit.

Below you can find a selection of the best women narrow Mary Jane’s shoes. Not all of these Mary Jane shoe styles are available in narrow widths (“N”), but for the ones that are please choose the “N” width. Please take into consideration that shoes can run short, long, narrow, or wide, and depending on how they run you will need to adjust the size that you get for yourself.

You always want to wear half a size longer of the size that you measure in the shoe measuring scale to prevent your toes from rubbing against the side or the front of the shoes.

However…

If you measure a foot size 5 and the shoes fit “short”, then you will need to choose the shoe size 6 to allow enough wiggle room (a whole size longer instead of a half a size longer). On the other hand, if the shoes fit “long” then you will need to pick the same shoe size instead of going half a size longer (since the shoes already fit long).
