Do you have extra wide feet and always have a hard time finding a pair of summer sandals? Do you feel like you try a whole different bunch of styles but they all feel too narrow and you always end up empty handed?
Unfortunately there are only a few sandal styles available for women with extra wide feet, but the good news is that I know exactly which ones they are and I will help you find them. Don’t worry if you also have a high instep, these sandals are also deep which will allow your feet to fit deeply inside the sandals and prevent the top part of your feet from rubbing against the top part of the sandals.
In addition, the sandals will come with a round toe-box that will prevent your toes from overlapping against each other or rubbing against the side of the sandals.
I have been working for a specialized shoe store for the last 10 years, and I am an expert when it comes to fitting women’s shoes. In addition, I have been helping women find the correct type of shoes and orthotics to significantly reduce or fully eliminate the foot and leg pain that they were having. We specialize in women with foot and leg problems, but we provide regular shoe fittings as well.
For the last 3 years I have been helping women find the perfect pair of shoes for their feet online.
Let me begin by telling you that if you wear a pair of sandals that are too narrow for your feet, you will end up creating several issues such as blisters, calluses, and corns, just to name a few.
Why is it so hard to find supportive women’s sandals that will fit your extra wide feet?
Quite simply because there isn’t enough demand for it. I believe there are a lot of women out there with wide or extra wide feet, but most of them are not aware that they have wide feet. The cost of mass produced shoes is kept low by producing only the most common styles (medium width). The less variations there are, the less the cost is for shoe companies. So, for wide footed people like you, it gets harder to find shoes that fit.
Besides fitting the shape of your extra wide feet, your sandals need to provide your feet with good support and be lightweight and flexible at the same time.
I will show you a selection of the best extra wide women’s sandals shortly, but first I want to make sure you know your exact foot size and the features that these sandals have to offer.

Bear in mind that shoes can run short, long, narrow, or wide, and depending on how they run you will need to adjust the size that you get for yourself.
You always want to wear a half a size longer of the size that you measure in the standard foot measuring scale (Brannock Device), n order to prevent your toes from rubbing against the side or the front of the shoes.
If you measure a foot size 5 and the shoes fit “short”, then you will need to choose the shoe size 6 in order to allow enough wiggle room (a whole size longer instead of a half a size longer). On the other hand, if the shoes fit “long” then you will need to pick the same shoe size instead of going a half a size longer (since the shoes already fit long).
Keep in mind that all of these shoe styles fit “true to size”, which means that you need a half a size longer of the size that you measure in the standard foot measuring scale in order to prevent your toes from rubbing against the side or the front of the shoes.

The Secret to Saving Big On Women’s Shoes – Let’s Find Out!
Most women don’t know that if they wear a women’s shoe size 8 ½ or smaller they can get the kids version of the shoe and save a lot of money. Since the shoe store that I work for is a family store that carries children, women, and men’s shoes, several women end up buying the kids version of the shoes since they are a lot cheaper.
However, this will only work if you wear a women’s shoe size 8 ½ or smaller, since an 8 ½ shoe size for women is an equivalent to a kids’ shoe size 7 (which is the last kids’ shoe size). A size 7 ½ is already considered a women’s shoe size, which means that you will end up paying the adult price for the shoe.
If you are one of those lucky women with relatively small feet, you might get lucky and end up saving a lot of money.
I actually wrote a post where I describe in more detail how this shoe size conversion works and you can find that article below:
