Do you have wide feet and you always have a hard time finding comfortable sneakers that are wide enough for your feet? Do you feel like all of the sneakers that you try on your feet feel either too tight around your small toe or around the top part of your feet (instep)?

Finding a pair of comfortable sneakers for a woman with wide feet can be challenging and time-consuming. Most women I speak to assume that a shoe that is labeled as wide (“W”, “EE”) will automatically fit the shape of their wide feet.

Just so you know, it takes a lot more than picking up a shoe from a shelf that is labeled as wide and hoping it will fit the shape of your wide feet. There are actually 2 other key features that your sneakers must provide in order to fit the shape of your wide feet — extra depth and rounder toe-boxes

The issue is that most sneakers don’t come labeled as “extra deep” or with “rounder toe-boxes”, so the only way to tell if a shoe provides these 2 important features is by having fitted the shoes before.

The good news is that I know which women’s sneakers provide these 2 features from having fitted them before. I have been helping women with “complicated” foot shapes find the correct pair of shoes for their feet over the last 10 years, and I believe I can help you too. I have noticed throughout the years how most women that come to the store are either wearing shoes that are too short or too narrow.

I will tell you based on my 10 years of shoe fitting experience which are the top 3 shoe brands for women with wide feet. I have fitted several different women’s shoe brands, so I am familiar with which ones are more consistent in manufacturing good sneakers for women with wide feet.

Just so you get a better idea, let me help you visualize the importance of finding shoes with extra depth and rounder toe-boxes.

Shoes for Women with Wide Feet – Extra Deep and Rounded Toe-Boxes!

☑️ Extra Depth

Let me show you the difference in depth between two shoes that are the same length and width. The shoe on the left is made by Asics and the shoe on the right is made by New Balance. Do you notice how the shoe on the right is a lot deeper compared to the shoe on the left? Even though these shoes have the same length and width they will fit very differently. Shoes with extra depth are ideal for women with wide feet and high insteps.

☑️ Round Toe-Boxes

Now let me show you the difference in toe-boxes between two shoes that are the same length and width. The shoe on the left is made by Asics and the shoe on the right is made by New Balance. Do you notice how the shoe on the right has a rounder toe-box compared to the shoe on the left? These shoes are the same size but as you can see they will fit very differently.

I showed you a New Balance shoe and an Asics one for example purposes only. I believe that both of these shoe brands manufacture excellent sneakers for women, but Asics is clearly not the way to go if you have wide feet. This is a bummer because Asics does manufacture excellent sneakers for women. I only recommend Asics shoes for women with narrow or medium feet.

Before I show you the top 3 shoe brands for women with wide feet I want to clarify that just because a particular shoe brand made my top 3 list, it doesn’t mean that all shoes from that particular shoe brand will fit the shape of your wide feet. There are specific shoes among each shoe brand that will be capable of accommodating the shape of your wide feet better.

I also want to point out that some women assume that they have wide feet when in fact they actually have extra wide feet. For example, do you know whether you have a high instep or not? In an effort to help women identify their exact foot size and shape I created a different article called:

How to Measure Your Foot Shoe Size – The Most Simple and Effective Way!

Most specialized shoe stores are closed now, but this doesn’t mean that you have to walk around or exercise in shoes that are too narrow. Now that you know your exact foot size and shape and have a better idea of what features your sneakers need to provide, let’s go ahead and take a look at the best shoe brands for women with wide feet.

#1 New Balance ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The first choice and my go-to shoe brand for women with wide feet is New Balance. There are specific New Balance shoes that provide extra depth, rounder toe-boxes, and that are available in wide widths (“W”, “EE”).

Some women are hesitant to try New Balance sneakers because they might not look “stylish” enough for their feet. I believe that the last couple of years this shoe company has made a great effort in manufacturing stylish sneakers that are capable of fitting women with wide or extra wide feet.

It’s important to mention that New Balance sneakers are also ideal for women with wide feet and high insteps.

Like I mentioned before, each shoe brand I recommend has certain shoes that will fit and feel better than others. Below you can find a selection of the best New Balance shoes for women with wide feet:

In order to prevent your toes from rubbing against the front or side part of the shoes, I highly recommend that you order these sneakers a half a size larger than the size that your feet measure. This translates to 0.3 inches or 0.6 centimeters of space between your longest toe and the end of the shoes.

#2 Orhotfeet ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This shoe brand is not as popular as New Balance but it manufactures high quality, comfortable, and supportive sneakers that provide extra depth, rounder toe-boxes, and they are available in wide (“W”, “EE”) and extra wide widths (“XW”, “EEEE”).

Orthofeet sneakers are also ideal for women with wide feet and high insteps.

This is my go-to shoe brand for women who in addition to having wide feet have a foot condition that makes it challenging to find shoes that fit. By a foot condition I mean hammertoes, bunions, or swollen feet, just to name a few.

If you have wide feet and are experiencing any sort of foot pain such as Plantar Fasciitis or any of the foot conditions that I mentioned above I suggest that you try a pair of the Orthofeet shoes I recommend.

#3 Saucony ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Saucony made the top 3 list of shoe brands for women with wide feet as they have a good selection of sneakers available for women with wide feet.

I recommend this shoe brand for women who have wide feet but if you have a high instep or a foot condition then it’s better to go with New Balance or Orthofeet.

Saucony shoes are supportive and meant for everyday walking and running. Below you can see a selection of the best Saucony sneakers for women with wide feet:

The Best Socks for Women with Wide Feet – Seamless and Breathable!

I always recommend to always look for seamless socks, specially if you have a wide foot. The advantage of seamless socks is that they allow for the toes to move freely, and prevents your toes from getting cramped against each other. If you have been looking for a good pair of socks for a while now, below you can find a selection of the most breathable, comfortable, and seamless socks for your sneakers:
